Abstract
A description is given of a successful technic for the use of novocaine block of the
brachial plexus and the sciatic nerve in the regional anesthesia of the extremities,
and the advantages of this form of anesthesia in emergency surgery are emphasized.
A brief analysis is given of a series of thirty-one brachial plexus blocks and twenty-six
sciatic nerve blocks used in this way.
