Abstract
- 1.1. Lumbar sympathectomy, as it is commonly performed, will not limit the extension of gangrene in advanced arteriosclerotic peripheral vascular disease.
- 2.2. The operation appears to be helpful in delineating the site of amputation below the knee.
- 3.3. Anatomic and antibiotic considerations are mentioned.
- 4.4. A suggested plan for the care of these patients is briefly presented.
