      Abstract

Twenty-six patients with advanced primary carcinoma of the liver who underwent complete hepatic dearterialization are presented. The changes occurring in the liver and the results of operation are discussed.
On the basis of this study, I believe that hepatic dearterialization has a definite place in the palliative management of primary tumors of the liver provided the patients are properly selected. The indications for selection of patients are discussed.
